Hi All,
How was your month of October?
I happened to come across this quote by Harriet Beecher Stowe and thought it worth sharing with y’all.
I snapped the photo above one beautiful morning in October while I was filled with gratitude. When I arrived home, I spotted a sweet little patch of morning sun etched into the sand, located close to the center of field of view.
It struck me as a reminder that if we relax into our existence and live in the moment, we never know what little patch of sun will strike at just the right time.
I’ll keep this short for today and leave you with a strong suggestion to head over to Tim’s blog. He posted my all-time favorite music video by Tina Dico. Someday (soon?) I’m going to create something with this quote from her lyrics, it says so much:
“Sometimes the fastest way to get there is to go slow.”
Namasté, friends. ~xo

Hi Lori:
Thanks for your post and for the shout out! It is pretty amazing you noticed that little patch of sun in the center of your photo. Keen observation. I like what you said about relaxing in the moment…there is some very good wisdom in that. BTW, I love the quote you included in the photo. Thanks, as always, for sharing what you did!
Tim´s last [type] ..Count to Ten
Hi Tim,
Thanks for your kind comment!
I try as hard as I can to focus on the present, some times are certainly more easy than others. It’s a work in progress, lol.
I really liked that quote, too, when I happened across it. I’m glad you liked it as well. Always thanks for saying hello, Tim. Hope all is well in your world.

Hi Lori, love your quote, photo and patch of sunshine. It reminds me of the song Pocket Full of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield. Happy happy Monday. xox
Hi Tess,
Aw, thanks a lot, my friend. That’s right! Pocket Full of Sunshine, I like that song, too. Happy Monday boomeranging back to you, with lots of love.

Are you psychic or what? This is a perfect post for me to read! My October has not been a favorite month, but I’m hopeful things will improve.
I love the picture and what you said about that spot of sunlight. It reminds me to look for those rays of sun — they are there — but sometimes we let ourselves only see the dark clouds.
I will visit Tim’s site and I loved the quote.
Happy day to you, my friend:~)
Sara´s last [type] ..Story Photo: The Witness
Hi Sara Songbird,
What a treat to see you today. I’m smiling!
I am pleased that this post resonated with you. I think the same thing a lot, too, when I visit your blog. I love your mind and the way you see things.
Actually, when I was posting this, I was reminded of the post you published with the patch of blue sky amongst the clouds. I love that! Keep finding the good, Sara. It’s beaming from inside of you.
Thanks for visiting Tim’s site, too, I hope you like the song as much as I do.
Happy, happy, happy day. Enjoy and I hope this finds you with a peaceful heart.

Hey, Lori—-it never fails that right before you post, I think about you a lot! So, I LOVE the picture and the patch of sunshine. The quote is what I teach in my painting classes, because really wonderful and rich paintings are built on a series of “failures” that could have caused the artist to quit. If you just keep on painting, writing, working, breathing, something even better than you planned will happen. But you might have to go through a bunch of failures first. And—there is NOTHING more exciting than being present when your layers of failures become a BEAUTIFUL PAINTING!
I am always so happy to see you in my mail! I think of you often and hope all is well and that the patch of sunshine visits you often!
And I visited Tim’s site and loved the video and the singer! Her song is still in my head! Thanks for sharing that!
Love and Hugs

Hi Jean!
So sorry for my delay, but I’m back.
I’m honored you’re thinking about me, same here! You’re never far from my thoughts.
I lovelovelove your thoughts about painting and the layers and what they can become. It kind of reminds me of life, that if we keep adding texture and color, eventually we find a beautiful work of art.
Thanks for heading to say hello to my friend Tim. He posts some really cool, eclectic posts which I think you’ll like.
Take care, my friend, and keep looking for that patch of sun.
Love,
~xo!
Oh I am trying to go slow, but after 5 months of no healing, I found October just at endurance level – then the sunshine came through yesterday and today with such beauty…I knew I would be okay and that I could just take it one step at a time.
Resistance…slow and steady…I just want several things right now!
Nice post and I enjoyed your link to Tim’s site
Thank you
Nice to find you here and see your patch of sunshine
Patricia – Wisdom´s last [type] ..What are you Afraid of?
Hi Patricia,
So lovely for you to stop by and leave your patch of sunshine here.
Believe me, I know what’s like to go months and months with no improvement. But, you know what? Stay strong. Believe. You never know what patch of sunshine will appear — just like you’ve experienced. Yes, slow and steady, ease into it, breathe.
Thanks for visiting Tim’s post, he’s a good friend of mine that posts interesting info often. I’m glad you enjoyed Tina Dico, I love her to bits.
Take good care and keep smiling!
Love,
~xo
Indeed, it’s about enjoying the moments when they appear
Thanks for you comment and thought, exactly!
Be well and take care.
